Mechanical, Thermal and Electrical Properties of Epoxy Nanocomposites with Amine-Functionalized Reduced Graphene Oxide via Plasma Treatment

A suitable functionalization of graphene and its derivatives can further enhance the material properties nanocomposites. In contrast to chemical methods that have been extensively researched, by plasma treatment is relatively unexplored. this work, we compare mechanical, thermal electrical characteristics an epoxy matrix incorporating loadings from 0.00 1.50 wt% non-functionalized (rGO) amine-functionalized reduced oxide (frGO) for which realized processing. No significant difference between rGO- frGO-including nanocomposites was observed with respect stiffness, strength, specific heat capacity, coefficient expansion conductivity. Yet, composites frGO exhibited a conductivity 27% (20%) higher than neat polymer due enhanced interface, enabled better transfer heat. addition, considerable increase in capacity established rising temperatures. This information will facilitate choice materials depending on loading composite applications matrix.
